Australian Open: Denis Istomin beats Novak Djokovic

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Representative of Uzbekistan Denis Istomin defeated the world No. 2 and defending champion Novak Djokovic in the second round of Australian Open.

In possibly the biggest upset of his career, the defending champion went down 7-6(8) 5-7 2-6 7-6(5) 6-4 to Uzbek player.

The match lasted 4 hours and 48 minutes. Denis Istomin recorded 17 aces, four break points and three double faults. Novak Djokovic served 14 aces, registered six break points and nine double faults.

Denis Istomin entered the last 32 for the third time where he will meet Spanish No.30 seed Pablo Carreno Busta.
