Asman Airlines Launches Direct Tamchy–Tashkent Flights
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Kyrgyz carrier Asman Airlines has operated its inaugural flight on the Tamchy–Tashkent route, launching direct air services between Uzbekistan's capital and the Issyk-Kul resort area.
The aircraft landed at Tashkent International Airport at 11:14 a.m. Tashkent time on 15 July. In keeping with aviation tradition, it was welcomed with a water cannon salute. The first outbound flight from Tashkent to Tamchy departed with 68 passengers on board.
The airline will operate charter flights once a week on Wednesdays using Dash 8-400 aircraft. During the current season, Asman Airlines has become the second carrier serving the route. Uzbekistan's Centrum Air also operates flights between Tashkent and Issyk-Kul.
The airline plans to further expand its route network. It intends to launch Tashkent–Osh flights by autumn and Tashkent–Karakol services during the winter season. It is also considering opening routes between Bishkek and Tashkent, as well as airports in the Ferghana Valley.
Asman Airlines is Kyrgyzstan's state-owned airline and a subsidiary of Airports of Kyrgyzstan JSC.
The carrier operates Dash 8 Q400 turboprop aircraft and serves domestic routes within Kyrgyzstan as well as international destinations, including Almaty and Khujand.
