Ashgabat and Tashkent Agree New Steps to Expand Economic Partnership
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The 19th meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Uzbek Commission on Trade-Economic, Scientific-Technical, and Cultural Cooperation was held in Ashgabat at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
During the intergovernmental event, the government delegations of the two countries conducted a detailed review of the current state of bilateral relations, analyzed the implementation of previously reached agreements, and outlined key vectors for deepening multifaceted interaction.
The meeting participants emphasized that Tashkent and Ashgabat traditionally attach priority importance to the progressive development of full-scale cooperation. The dialogue between the states continues to be built on a solid foundation of good-neighborliness, equality, mutual trust, and respect for each other's strategic interests.
The members of the Intergovernmental Commission paid primary attention to developing practical steps to bring the economic and investment partnership to a qualitatively new level. Relevant specialists reviewed in detail the potential for expanding physical volumes and diversifying the structure of mutual trade turnover, as well as the prospects for launching joint projects in the field of high technologies.
Following the work, specific operational plans for the long-term perspective were approved and the final Protocol of the 19th meeting of the Joint Commission was signed.
At the conclusion of the meeting, representatives of ministries and departments expressed confidence that thanks to the coordinated efforts of the leaders of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, the bilateral strategic partnership will be filled with new practical content.
The parties confirmed their full commitment to strict compliance with regulations and the timely implementation of all signed agreements.
