Almalyk Traffic Crash Kills Child, Another Hospitalized

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A road traffic accident in the city of Almalyk in Uzbekistan’s Tashkent region on 12 May at around 14:00 resulted in the death of a child and injuries to another, who was hospitalized, official sources reported.

According to available information, the accident occurred on A. Temur Street, where a 23-year-old driver struck two children born in 2017 as they were crossing the roadway at a pedestrian crossing.

One of the injured children sustained severe injuries and died at a medical facility.

The second child was taken to hospital, and his condition is being clarified.

A criminal case has been opened in connection with the traffic accident, and an investigation into the circumstances is ongoing.
