97.9% of the population of Uzbekistan owns separate houses or apartments

As a result of 2017, 97.9% of the population of Uzbekistan owns separate houses or apartments. This is reported by the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
The committee underlines that 99.3% of the rural population owns houses or apartments. In 2000, these figures were 93.7% and 95.4%, respectively.
Also, the share of households, living space for each member of the family in which was equal to 20 sq.m and more, in 2000 was 17.1%.
In 2017, this figure rose to 28.6%, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
