15 MW Hydroelectric Power Plant Built in Ferghana
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Construction of a 15 MW hydroelectric power plant is underway in the Sokh district of the Ferghana region, according to the Ferghana regional administration. The US$41 million project is expected to supply approximately 70 percent of the district's electricity demand once operational.
Ferghana Region Khokim Khayrullo Bozorov inspected the progress of the construction site. Main works are currently being carried out to align and reinforce the inner and side sections of the plant's canal, while concrete pouring work is proceeding at an accelerated pace.
A total of 80 units of specialized machinery of various types are deployed on the site. Particular emphasis is being placed on providing employment opportunities for unemployed citizens, including young people who have returned from labor migration.
During his visit, Bozorov received reports from responsible officials regarding the project's progress, current construction activities, and the execution of assigned tasks. Following the inspection, the regional head instructed officials to ensure the quality of the work and complete construction on schedule.
