Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan is planning to redistribute more than 7,000 hectares of land between districts and cities in two regions, following draft resolutions reviewed at a regular session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.

In Surkhandarya region, 4,740 hectares are proposed to be transferred from Jarkurgan district to Kizirik district.

The move is expected to improve living conditions for 4,230 residents, or 731 households, enhance territorial management efficiency, and strengthen social support mechanisms. Particular emphasis is placed on agricultural development—especially livestock farming—as well as job creation and accelerating the district’s socio-economic growth. The proposed maps and revised boundary descriptions have been approved.

In Navoi region, 2,459 hectares from Tamdyn district are set to be incorporated into the city of Zarafshan.

The city’s expansion is linked to a long-term development plan that предусматривает the construction of more than 250 industrial projects, around 90 social facilities, and over 500 trade and service sector sites.

These measures are expected to support comprehensive territorial development, increase employment, and improve overall living standards.
