Six Blocks of Tashkent Housing Project Built Without Registration
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's Construction and Housing and Utilities Inspection has commented on social media reports about the construction of the Newport residential complex by Mega Logistics Service in Tashkent's Yakkasaray district, saying the identified violations were addressed and legal measures were taken against those responsible.
According to the inspection, construction and installation work is underway on nine blocks located on land owned by Mega Logistics Service LLC. Three of the blocks received positive conclusions from the working body of the Architectural and Urban Planning Council and the state expert review authority.
The facilities were subsequently registered with the Tashkent Territorial Inspection, allowing construction to proceed in accordance with established procedures.
However, the inspection found that construction of the remaining six blocks was carried out without the mandatory registration required by law.
The agency said it had repeatedly issued binding written orders to Mega Logistics Service LLC, the project developer, requiring construction work to begin only after urban planning documentation had been approved and the facilities had been registered in accordance with legal requirements.
As the company failed to comply with those orders, responsible officials were held administratively liable. The inspection also issued a formal submission regarding the developer's technical supervision representatives and imposed measures against them.
The inspection said materials collected during the investigation of the violations had been forwarded to law enforcement authorities for legal assessment.
The agency added that regular inspections had been conducted at the site and that all measures were taken within the powers provided by law.
The inspection also urged social media users to take all the circumstances of the case into account and verify information through official and reliable sources.
