Tashkent Cafe Chimney Fire Extinguished Within Minutes

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A chimney fire at a cafe in Tashkent's Mirabad district was extinguished within minutes on the morning of 5 August 2026, with no casualties reported, according to the city's Main Department for Emergency Situations.

The department said it received a report of the incident at 07:03. The fire broke out at a cafe located at 2 Abdurauf Fitrat Street in the Mirabad district.

Fire and rescue crews arrived at the scene at 07:09. The fire was brought under control at 07:12 and completely extinguished at 07:13.

According to preliminary information, the fire was confined to the cafe's chimney system and did not spread to other parts of the premises.

The department said there were no fatalities or injuries.

Specialists are investigating the cause of the fire and assessing the extent of the material damage.

The department reminded owners of food service establishments of the importance of regularly inspecting chimney systems, ventilation equipment and fire safety systems, particularly where kitchen equipment is used intensively.

It added that timely maintenance of engineering systems and compliance with fire safety requirements remain key factors in preventing similar incidents.
