Woman and child die after alimony-related conflict in Ferghana

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A tragedy occurred in Ferghana on 3 November: during a conflict over alimony payments, a 34-year-old man fatally stabbed his 27-year-old wife and their one-year-old daughter, the General Prosecutor’s Office of Uzbekistan reported.

After the attack, the perpetrator fled the scene. Despite medical assistance, the woman and child died in the hospital.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 97 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan — “Premeditated murder.”

The suspect has been detained, and investigative proceedings are ongoing.
