Uzbekistan’s Uzbektelecom net profit at 6.1 billion soums

The net profit of Uzbek national fixed-line operator Uzbektelecom amounted to 6.1 billion soums in January-June, the company’s press office said Friday.

The company did not provide comparisons or accounting standards used for calculation.

Uzbektelecom’s revenue rose 15.8% on the year to 86.4 billion soums, including 25.3 billion soums from services provided to residential users.

Uzbektelecom’s net profit fell 13.6% on the year to 3.463 billion soums in 2006, the company said earlier.

Uzbektelecom is 94%-owned by the Uzbek government.
