Uzbekistan's Fruit and Vegetable Exports Reach US$872.9M

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan exported 1.0867 million tonnes of fruit and vegetable products worth US$872.9 million in January–June 2026, according to a foreign trade report published by the National Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics on 28 July.

Compared with the same period of 2025, export volume increased by 0.8%, or 8,500 tonnes, while export value rose by 3.0%. Fruit and vegetable products accounted for 5.5% of the country's total exports.

Among fruit exports, dried grapes accounted for the largest volume at 47,700 tonnes worth US$58.0 million, followed by peaches at 35,000 tonnes worth US$37.2 million and cherries at 25,200 tonnes worth US$59.9 million.

Overall fruit exports declined from 198,200 tonnes to 158,500 tonnes, while their value fell slightly from US$250.4 million to US$240.6 million. Dried apricot exports recorded notable growth, increasing from US$13.0 million to US$25.2 million, while export volume rose from 8,100 tonnes to 9,400 tonnes.

Vegetable exports, by contrast, increased both in volume and value, rising from 454,900 tonnes to 504,300 tonnes and from US$156.5 million to US$190.3 million, respectively.

Onions accounted for the largest share of vegetable exports at 277,500 tonnes worth US$82.1 million, followed by cabbage at 137,800 tonnes worth US$53.8 million. Carrot exports increased from 34,100 tonnes to 51,300 tonnes, while their value rose from US$6.9 million to US$11.9 million. Garlic exports nearly doubled, increasing from 2,900 tonnes to 5,400 tonnes, with export value rising from US$3.9 million to US$8.7 million.

Exports of melons and watermelons declined from 144,800 tonnes to 128,600 tonnes, while their value increased from US$34.3 million to US$41.0 million.

Exports of nuts and peanuts remained broadly stable at 12,400 tonnes compared with 12,200 tonnes a year earlier, although their value edged down from US$29.3 million to US$28.3 million.

Mung bean exports increased from 32,800 tonnes to 35,000 tonnes, while their value rose from US$30.0 million to US$33.3 million.

The statistics committee also reported that agricultural and food products accounted for a significant share of the country's foreign trade. Exports of food products and live animals totalled US$1.3216 billion, representing 8.3% of total exports and marking a 9.0% increase compared with January–June 2025.
