Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The second exchange transaction involving mortgage bonds worth 40.14 billion soums has been completed on the Uzbekistan Stock Exchange (UZSE). The placement was carried out under the implementation of the presidential decree of 21 February 2025 (No. UP-26) on additional measures to further develop Uzbekistan's housing and mortgage market.
The transaction was conducted through a private placement involving Agrobank. The mortgage bonds were issued by UMRC SPV LLC, established under the Uzbekistan Mortgage Refinancing Company JSC.
According to the organisers, the placement demonstrates the continued implementation of the phased mortgage bond issuance mechanism envisaged by the presidential decree.
The organisers said the phased issuance of mortgage bonds is intended to develop the market for mortgage-backed securities, expand sources of long-term financing and introduce modern financial instruments to Uzbekistan's mortgage lending market.
