Uzbekistan, UAE Expand Public Administration Reforms
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on May 22 with a delegation from the United Arab Emirates led by Minister of Government Affairs Muhammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi.
At the beginning of the meeting, the UAE representative conveyed greetings to the head of state from President of the UAE Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of the country, Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Vice President Sheikh Mansour Al Nahyan.
The sides discussed further expansion of Uzbek–Emirati cooperation, primarily in the field of improving the efficiency of public administration systems and implementing ongoing reforms. The dynamic development of friendly relations and strategic partnership between the two countries was noted, along with strengthened practical cooperation in priority areas.
It was reported that within the framework of a joint roadmap, cooperation is being implemented in 10 key areas of public service reform. Uzbekistan is adopting UAE experience in reducing bureaucracy, and a project office is operating under the relevant program.
Separate attention was given to the results of the educational initiative “Five Million Leaders of Artificial Intelligence,” which, according to the data presented, has reached more than one million participants.
A ceremony to award winners of the “Assessment of Public Authorities Performance” project will also take place today.
The sides expressed interest in expanding participation in this initiative, including the involvement of representatives of local authorities.
In addition, discussions covered the launch of a nationwide reading movement, as well as the implementation of projects aimed at supporting youth, holding joint forums, and developing strategic and conceptual documents for the development of Uzbekistan.
