Uzbekistan to Pay Citizens for Safety Violation Reports

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan will introduce a system of financial rewards for citizens who report violations of industrial, radiation and nuclear safety rules starting frpm 1 August 2026, the Ministry of Justice said.

Under the new procedure, individuals will be able to submit photo and video materials to the Committee for Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety documenting violations in the operation of hazardous production facilities and technical equipment. Such submissions will be treated as an official source of information for subsequent inspections and investigations.

The submitted materials must meet specific requirements. They must clearly reflect the nature of the alleged violation and include the location of the incident, as well as the date and time, including geolocation data. These requirements are intended to ensure the accuracy of information and enable prompt verification.

Once a report is received, authorized bodies must review it within three working days. If the information is confirmed, an on-site inspection will be conducted. Based on the results, evidence will be collected, an administrative case will be initiated, and an appropriate decision will be issued.

A key element of the new mechanism is a financial incentive system. Citizens who provide verified information on violations will receive a reward equal to 20% of the imposed fine.

Authorities said the introduction of this practice is aimed at strengthening public oversight of compliance with safety requirements at potentially hazardous facilities, as well as improving the efficiency of identifying violations in the sector.
