Uzbekistan to face Syria in quarterfinals of AFC U-16 Championship

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Uzbekistan will play against Syria in the quarterfinals of the AFC U-16 Championship, which is taking place in Thailand.

Syria U-16 defeated Iran with the score 2-1 and claimed the second place in Group D with five points. Iran topped the group with six points.

The quarterfinal match with participation of Uzbekistan will be held on 14 September and kicks off at 18:00 Tashkent time. The winner will receive right to play in FIFA U-17 World Cup.

In other quarterfinal matches, South Korea will entertain Japan, Australia will face Malaysia and Iran will play against North Korea.
