Uzbekistan to cover utilities for families of war victims

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has expanded social support measures for families of citizens killed during military operations in Afghanistan. The relevant changes were introduced by Presidential Decree No. UP-62 dated 16 April 2026.

The document provides for the introduction of monetary compensation aimed at partially reimbursing expenses for housing and communal services. The right to receive the payment is granted to parents, as well as widows of citizens who died during combat operations.

The measure is intended to reduce the financial burden on families who have lost loved ones and to strengthen state support for this category of citizens.
