Uzbekistan tightens fuel station controls with U-Gas system
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Government of Uzbekistan is adopting comprehensive measures to tighten controls over the turnover of motor fuel.
The country's Cabinet of Ministers has approved a special resolution aimed at preventing emergencies, minimizing technological threats, and ensuring strict control over automobile and gas filling stations across the country.
The new regulatory act officially establishes a minimum list of requirements for fuel stations. Special emphasis is placed on strict compliance with set standards for fire and industrial safety, environmental norms, environmental protection rules, and strict technical regulations for operating specialized equipment.
The large-scale modernization will affect the technical fleet of the facilities. Between 1 September 2026 and 1 January 2030, a phased restriction on the operation of technical equipment functioning under excessive pressure will be introduced in the country if its regulatory service life has expired or if there is no documentary confirmation of its production date. This requirement is universal and applies to absolutely all types of filling stations, including departmental and corporate facilities designed exclusively for the internal needs of enterprises.
In parallel, a deep digitalization of fuel retail is being launched in the republic. The key innovation will be the mandatory implementation of the specialized software and hardware complex U-Gas, through which the gas sales process will be fully converted into a digital format.
The presence and correct operation of this system will become an indispensable licensing condition for conducting business. At the same time, the indicators and information accumulated by the U-Gas platform will be granted the status of official information, based on which regulatory and supervisory authorities will take operational response measures if violations are detected.
