Uzbekistan, St Petersburg Expand Economic Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting with a delegation from Saint Petersburg was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan to discuss prospects for expanding bilateral economic cooperation.
The talks were attended by Saint Petersburg Vice Governor Kirill Polyakov, along with representatives of institutions responsible for industrial policy, innovation development, and foreign economic relations.
The Uzbek side was represented by Acting Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sukhrob Abdurakhmonov and heads of sectoral associations.
The discussions focused on the implementation of joint projects in the pharmaceutical sector, industrial production, transport, and infrastructure. The parties also addressed the establishment of trading houses and the expansion of opportunities to access third-country markets.
Special attention was given to an initiative to create a joint pharmaceutical enterprise and increase exports of Uzbek products to the Saint Petersburg market.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to pursue systematic development of cooperation, maintain regular dialogue, and actively participate in the St Petersburg International Economic Forum scheduled for June this year.
