Uzbekistan Shares Paperless Trade Experience in Bangkok

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan’s Customs Committee participated in the Asia-Pacific Trade Facilitation Forum and Paperless Trade Week 2026, held on 8–12 June in Bangkok, Thailand.

As part of the programme, a practical seminar was organised by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) on methodological and institutional tools for identifying and preventing illicit financial flows. Representatives from Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, and Kyrgyzstan took part and exchanged experience in combating illegal financial operations.

The Uzbek side presented measures aimed at ensuring economic security, combating illicit capital flows, developing currency control systems, and the practical outcomes of ongoing reforms.

The forum also included the 21st session of the SPECA Working Group on Trade and the fifth session of the Council on Paperless Trade under the Framework Agreement on Facilitation of Cross-border Paperless Trade in Asia and the Pacific.

Participants discussed the development of single window systems, mutual recognition of electronic documents, expansion of information exchange between customs authorities, and acceleration of digital transformation in trade procedures.

Representatives of Uzbekistan also spoke as panellists in a session on transit development in CAREC countries, sharing experience on the digitalisation of customs services and improving transit potential.

The event concluded with acknowledgement of strong international interest in Uzbekistan’s practical reforms in paperless trade and digital transformation.
