Uzbekistan-Saudi Business Council Results: Airport, Data Center, and Infrastructure Projects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On the sidelines of the milestone 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum, the Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, participated in a series of strategic business events.

The central event of the integration agenda was the 7th meeting of the Uzbekistan-Saudi Business Council. The forum brought together around 200 delegates, including heads of ministries, major investment holding companies, financial institutions, and representatives from leading business communities of both nations.

Following the sessions, a large-scale package of bilateral documents and investment agreements was signed, aimed at the fundamental development of Uzbekistan's strategic and public utilities infrastructure.

In particular, the parties secured legal agreements to launch joint projects that include the construction of a new international airport, the comprehensive modernization of regional water management systems, and the introduction of energy-efficient district cooling technologies. Additionally, the agreements regulate close cooperation in environmental waste management and the scaling up of bilateral franchising programs.

A breakthrough vector in digital transformation was achieved with the signing of a targeted agreement between the technology company DataVolt and a consortium of major international financial institutions.

This document officially unlocks project financing for the construction of a high-tech, next-generation green data center on the territory of IT Park in Tashkent. The implementation of this project is intended to strengthen the republic's ICT infrastructure and establish a reliable foundation for data processing and storage on a regional scale.
