Uzbekistan Records Over 4,200 Twin Births in 2026
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan registered 4,231 cases of twin births in January–March 2026. A total of 191,086 live births were recorded in the country during the period, according to the National Statistics Committee.
Out of the total number of births, 186,723 were single births. Twin births accounted for 4,231 cases, while births involving triplets or more children were registered 132 times.
According to the statistics, boys accounted for 98,500 newborns, or 51.5% of the total. Girls made up 92,600 newborns, or 48.5%.
The largest number of births was recorded in the Samarkand region with 23,120 children born. The Fergana region followed with 21,563 newborns.
The Kashkadarya region registered 21,292 births during the reporting period.
