Uzbekistan Records 601,300 Active Businesses as of August

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A total of 601,300 enterprises and organizations were operating in Uzbekistan as of 1 August 2026, with the highest concentration in trade, agriculture, forestry, fishing, and manufacturing, the National Statistics Committee reported.

The trade sector represents the largest category among economic activities, accounting for 164,481 active enterprises and organizations.

Agriculture, forestry, and fishing ranked second with 131,925 operating entities, while the industrial and manufacturing sector numbered 63,861 entities.

In accommodation and food services, 33,966 enterprises and organizations were active, followed closely by construction with 33,163 entities. Transportation and storage accounted for 18,894 entities.

The healthcare and social services sector recorded 15,341 active enterprises and organizations, while information and communication accounted for 13,705 entities.

An additional 125,940 enterprises and organizations operate across other types of economic activity.

Trade remains the largest sector in Uzbekistan by the number of active enterprises and organizations, ahead of agriculture, forestry, fishing, and industry.
