GLI Approved for Gaming Certification in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) has been officially added by the National Agency of Perspective Projects of Uzbekistan (NAPP) to its list of authorized testing and certification laboratories, according to GLI. The decision enables operators and suppliers to utilize GLI's testing reports when introducing gaming products into the Uzbek market under established regulatory requirements.
Following its inclusion in the official registry, GLI is authorized to submit testing and certification results for use within Uzbekistan's regulated gaming industry.
According to the company, the local market is moving into its operational phase, with two operators already granted four licenses. GLI described the regulatory recognition by NAPP as a key milestone for its growth across Central Asia.
Lukas Zavarize, GLI Senior Manager of Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs for EMEIA, stated that Uzbekistan is establishing itself as a key regulated market in Central Asia, adding that GLI is proud to be among the first testing laboratories whose certification reports are accepted under the new regulatory framework.
Zavarize noted that NAPP aims to foster controlled and sustainable growth within the sector. GLI plans to leverage its global regulatory expertise to support the development of Uzbekistan's market and the broader gaming industry in Central Asia.
Earlier in August 2026, representatives from GLI and NAPP held discussions regarding the new regulatory structure and potential areas of industry support. GLI noted that while elements of the technical regulatory framework remain under development, the company continues to engage with NAPP as technical standards are finalized.
Founded in 1989, GLI specializes in testing, inspection, and certification for land-based gaming systems, lotteries, and iGaming solutions. The company reports having certified nearly 2 million items and tested gaming equipment across more than 710 jurisdictions worldwide.
