Uzbekistan Raises Electricity and Gas Tariffs from June 2026
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan will introduce new tariffs for electricity and natural gas starting from 1 June 2026, according to government resolution No. 243 dated 15 May 2026. The changes apply to all major categories of consumers, including households and businesses.
Under the document, the price of 1 kWh of electricity for consumers in Groups I, II and IV is set at 1,100 Uzbek soums, compared with the current 1,000 soums. For Group III consumers, which includes households, a differentiated tariff system based on consumption volume will remain in place.
For residents of apartment buildings and dormitories equipped with centralized electric stoves, tariffs will be set as follows: up to 200 kWh per month — 325 soums per kWh (currently 300 soums); from 201 to 500 kWh — 450 soums; and from 501 to 1,000 kWh — 550 soums.
For other household consumers, higher rates will apply: up to 200 kWh — 650 soums (currently 600 soums); from 201 to 500 kWh — 900 soums (800 soums); and from 501 to 1,000 kWh — 1,100 soums (1,000 soums). The system of higher coefficients for consumption above the set thresholds will remain in effect.
For natural gas, the price for most consumer categories is set at 2,000 soums per cubic meter. For automotive gas filling compressor stations, the tariff is set at 2,750 soums per cubic meter.
For households, a differentiated payment system for gas will also remain in place. During the heating season, the preferential limit is set at up to 500 cubic meters per month, while in other periods the limit is 100 cubic meters at a preferential rate of 1,100 soums per cubic meter (currently 1,000 soums).
The government also outlined additional measures aimed at reducing energy losses, improving energy efficiency, and enhancing the quality of consumer services.
