Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Vehicle sales in Uzbekistan exceeded 80,200 units in June, an 18% increase compared with May, with growth recorded across all major automotive market segments, according to the Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERC).

According to the center, sales increased in almost all regions of the country. A decline compared with the previous month was noted only in the Jizzakh Region, where the indicator fell by 2.2%. The highest growth rates were registered in the Surkhandarya Region at 33.7%, Khorezm Region at 32.6%, Syrdarya Region at 29%, Samarkand Region at 28.3%, Kashkadarya Region at 26.2%, and Andijan Region at 26%. In Tashkent, sales volume grew by 9% to reach 17,900 vehicles.

Passenger car sales for the month totaled 61,400 units, up 14%. On the primary market, 24,000 new cars were sold, an 11% increase over May. Domestically produced vehicles provided the main contribution, with sales rising 12% to 18,800 units. Sales of new foreign-made cars increased by nearly 7% to 5,100 units.

In the first half of the year, sales of new passenger cars reached 157,000 units, 3.5% higher than in the same period last year.

On the secondary market, more than 37,000 used passenger cars were sold in June, a 16% increase from the previous month. This segment accounted for approximately 61% of total passenger car sales. Meanwhile, during the January–June period, sales volume on the secondary market totaled nearly 240,000 cars, down 18% compared with a year earlier.

The electric vehicle market demonstrated the most notable momentum. In June, 8,400 electric cars were sold across the primary and secondary markets, exceeding May's figure by 63.5%. Over the first half of the year, electric vehicle sales exceeded 40,000 units, a 40% increase compared with the same period last year.

Growth in electric vehicle sales was recorded in almost all regions of the country. The exception was the Syrdarya Region, where the indicator dropped 2.9%. The highest growth rates were recorded in the Jizzakh Region at 101%, Bukhara Region at 64.6%, and Ferghana Region at 58.5%.

Tashkent maintained its leading position in the electric vehicle market. In June, the capital accounted for about 63% of all sales, with their volume increasing by 78% compared with May to reach 5,300 units.
