Uzbekistan presents Youth Strategy “Youth–2030”
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has reviewed the presentation of the “New Uzbekistan Youth – 2030” strategy, which is set to become the country’s first comprehensive program in the field of state youth policy.
The document has been developed taking into account the country’s demographic structure, with a population of 38 million people, of whom about 9.5 million are young people aged 14 to 30. Each year, around 270,000 young families are formed in the country, requiring a systematic approach to supporting the younger generation.
The strategy covers key areas including youth employment, entrepreneurship development, improvement of education quality, foreign language learning, support for young families, and strengthening the physical and intellectual potential of youth. Special attention is given to the development of volunteering and systematic work on psychological health.
According to target indicators, by 2030 it is planned to ensure annual employment for about 600,000 young people, involve up to 900,000 individuals in volunteer activities, increase the number of educational centers to 90,000, and raise the level of foreign language proficiency to B2 level for 450,000 young citizens.
Within educational initiatives, the strategy provides for incentives for establishing training centers in regions, tax preferences for teachers, and stimulation of foreign language learning. For young people with high language proficiency, reductions in certain state fees and exemptions from specific charges are proposed.
In the area of support for young families, measures include mortgage assistance and compensation for part of loan interest rates. The strategy also plans grant programs, internships in government institutions, and the creation of new youth public spaces.
The document also includes measures to strengthen youth psychological health, develop sports infrastructure, and reduce youth crime rates. A 24/7 psychological support center and expanded sports facilities are planned.
International cooperation will be another key direction, including internships abroad and participation of Uzbek youth in international programs jointly with the United Nations, the World Bank, and other organizations.
The strategy will be implemented through 56 projects in 2026–2027, covering educational, entrepreneurial, and social initiatives.
The President emphasized that all measures must be aimed at raising a well-educated, healthy, and proactive generation capable of contributing to the country’s development.
