Uzbekistan, Poland Expand Textile Industry Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan led by the Director of the Agency for the Development of Light Industry, Nozimjon Kholmurodov, visited Poland on a working trip focused on expanding cooperation in the textile sector and attracting investment.

During the visit, talks were held with representatives of Poland’s Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), the Polish-Asian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as major industry associations and companies, including LPP S.A.

The parties noted the significant potential of Uzbekistan as one of Poland’s key partners in Central Asia. It was also highlighted that Uzbek textiles account for around 30% of Poland’s imports, and that the creation of a textile hub and exhibition platform in the city of Łódź is seen as a factor for further growth.

During the discussions, it was stated that Uzbekistan and Poland are becoming mutually complementary strategic partners, strengthening their positions in the markets of Europe and Central Asia.

An Uzbek-Polish light industry business forum was also held in Warsaw, bringing together more than 80 companies.

The event presented reforms in Uzbekistan, measures to improve the investment climate and expand export potential, as well as the modern production capabilities of the country’s textile industry.

Following the forum, memorandums of cooperation were signed between the Agency for the Development of Light Industry of Uzbekistan and Polish industry organizations. Agreements were reached on expanding business missions, implementing investment projects, and using financial instruments from Polish banks.

Separate arrangements were made to develop cooperation with LPP S.A., including orders for 1 million units of production for the Reserved and Mohito brands, as well as involving experts to improve the qualifications of specialists at Uzbek enterprises.
