Uzbekistan payment terminal turnover reaches 387.4trn soums
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Payment terminal turnover in Uzbekistan reached 387.4 trillion soums in January-July 2026.
The number of bank cards in circulation increased by 10.9% from the beginning of the year, while average monthly turnover per card rose from 562,000 to 731,000 soums, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan said.
As of 1 August, 75.7 million bank cards were in circulation, compared with 68.3 million on 1 January. Banks therefore issued an additional 7.4 million cards during the seven-month period.
The number of payment terminals also increased, from 430,800 at the beginning of the year to 453,500 as of 1 August. The network expanded by 22,700 terminals, or 5.3%.
The number of ATMs and information kiosks increased as well. Their number rose from 40,100 at the beginning of the year to 47,000 by 1 August, an increase of 6,900 devices, or 17.3%.
During the first seven months of 2026, transactions worth 387.4 trillion soums were conducted through payment terminals. For comparison, turnover for the whole of 2025 amounted to 460.3 trillion soums.
While the number of bank cards increased by 10.9%, payment terminal turnover rose by 44.3%. Average monthly turnover per card also increased, from 562,000 to 731,000 soums.
The growth in payment infrastructure and terminal turnover reflects the continued expansion of cashless payments in everyday consumer spending.
