Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's boxing team has finalised its squad for the Asian Games, which start on 19 September in the Japanese city of Aichi-Nagoya and will run until 4 October, the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation said.
The men's team includes six boxers. Samandar Olimov will compete in the up to 55 kg weight category, Abdumalik Khalokov in the up to 60 kg, Shavkatjon Boltayev in the up to 70 kg, Fazliddin Erkinboyev in the up to 80 kg, Turabek Khabibullayev in the up to 90 kg and Jakhongir Zokirov in the over 90 kg category.
Tulkin Kilichev is the men's team's head coach. The coaching staff includes Juan Enrique Steyners, Rakhmatjon Ruziokhunov, Akmal Khasanov, Davron Gafurov, Nodir Gulomov, Alimardon Dostanov and Sherzodbek Akhmadjonov.
The women's team will be represented by five athletes. Feruza Kazakova will compete in the up to 51 kg category, Nigina Oqtamova in the up to 54 kg, Sitora Turdibekova in the up to 60 kg, Navbakhor Khamidova in the up to 65 kg and Aziza Zakirova in the up to 75 kg.
The women's team's head coach is Elshod Rasulov. He will be assisted by coaches Barbara Fernandez Jimenez, Islom Tadzhiboyev and Azim Khudaykulov.
Mirshokhid Tillaboyev has been appointed team leader.
The medical staff includes doctor Komiljon Rasulov and physiotherapist Jesus Alberto.
