Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's national team finished second in the overall standings at the FIA Asia-Pacific Motorsport Championship 2026, winning four gold and two silver medals, according to the National Automobile and Motorcycle Federation of Uzbekistan (UZMAMF).
The competition took place from 23 to 25 October at the Bira Circuit in Thailand.
The result marked Uzbekistan's first second-place finish in the championship's overall team standings, with Uzbek athletes achieving their strongest performances in the karting slalom discipline.
The latest achievement represents a significant improvement over the country's previous results at the regional championship.
In 2023, Uzbekistan won its first silver medal at the championship held in Malaysia, finishing 11th in the overall team standings.
At the 2025 championship in Sri Lanka, Uzbek competitors secured two bronze medals and finished 12th overall.
UZMAMF has been a member of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) since December 2019.
According to the federation, cooperation with the FIA supports the introduction of international standards, the training of athletes and technical specialists, and broader participation by Uzbek drivers in international motorsport competitions.
