Uzbekistan Joins WCO Customs Valuation Session

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The 62nd session of the Technical Committee on Customs Valuation has started at the headquarters of the World Customs Organization (WCO) in Brussels. For the first time, representatives of the Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan — A. Sadriddinov and D. Rakhmonov — are taking part in the event.

The session, held from April 20 to 24, is dedicated to issues related to determining the customs value of goods and ensuring the consistent application of international standards on customs valuation.

During the working visit, the Uzbek delegation held a meeting with the Chair of the WCO Technical Committee on Customs Valuation and other officials of the organization. The discussions focused on ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at improving the system for determining and controlling customs value, as well as future development prospects in this area.

Special attention was given to the proposal to conduct a diagnostic mission involving WCO experts. The initiative aims to assess the alignment of national legislation with WCO customs valuation standards as part of Uzbekistan’s broader customs modernization efforts.

In addition, the delegation held bilateral meetings with representatives of several countries, exchanging experience and discussing opportunities for further cooperation in customs valuation and trade facilitation.
