Uzbekistan, Italy Advance Pharma and Industry Projects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Within the framework of the international event “Lombardy Meets Samarkand: Investment Opportunities,” held with the participation of Promos Italia and the Lombardy Region (Regione Lombardia), sectoral roundtables were held in Samarkand dedicated to the development of industrial and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Italy.

The event brought together the Hokim of Samarkand region, the head of the Italian Chamber of Commerce, representatives of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan, as well as executives and specialists from leading Italian pharmaceutical companies. Representatives of the energy and industrial sectors also took part in the discussions.

The main focus was placed on opportunities for establishing joint production facilities, attracting investments, localizing industrial manufacturing, and introducing modern technologies. The sides reviewed prospects for technology transfer and deeper industrial cooperation.

Potential joint projects were also discussed in key sectors, including pharmaceuticals, mechanical engineering, chemical industry, and energy.

Following the event, it was noted that the meeting served as an important platform for establishing direct dialogue between business communities of Uzbekistan and Italy, as well as identifying practical directions for further investment and technological cooperation.
