Uzbekistan introduces penalties for illegal laser devices
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has introduced administrative liability for the illegal circulation and use of portable laser emitters. The relevant law was signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, introducing amendments to several legislative acts.
According to changes made to the Code of Administrative Responsibility, the illegal use of portable laser devices will result in a fine ranging from 15 to 25 base calculation units, with mandatory confiscation of the item used in the offense.
For the production, manufacturing, storage, transportation, shipment, and illegal export of such devices outside the country, a fine ranging from 15 to 30 base calculation units is предусмотрен, also with confiscation.
Separate liability has been established for the illegal transfer, sale, and import of portable laser emitters into the territory of Uzbekistan.
In these cases, the fine will range from 25 to 50 base calculation units, also accompanied by confiscation of the offending items.
In addition, the law introduces amendments related to the structure of mahalla law enforcement posts and support stations. The powers of inspectors serving in these units have been clarified.
