Uzbekistan-India Bilateral Trade Reaches US$598.1 Million
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Bilateral trade turnover between Uzbekistan and India reached US$598.1 million during the first six months of 2026, while Indian investments and loans in Uzbekistan's fixed capital totaled US$225.9 million over the same period, according to the National Statistics Committee.
The volume of mutual trade was heavily weighted toward imports from India. Uzbekistan imported US$514 million in Indian goods and services between January and June 2026, compared to US$84.2 million in exports to India. Imports accounted for approximately 86% of total two-way trade, while exports represented about 14%.
Indian commercial activity in the Uzbek economy was also reflected in enterprise data, with 439 entities operating in the country with Indian capital participation as of 1 August 2026.
Travel between the two nations showed significant activity in tourism and education during the first seven months of the year. A total of 32,462 Indian citizens visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes between January and July 2026, while 12,003 Uzbek tourists traveled to India.
In educational mobility, 3,853 individuals arrived in Uzbekistan from India for study purposes during the seven-month period, whereas 44 Uzbek students traveled to India for education.
