Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A Spanish delegation visited agricultural enterprises in Uzbekistan's Tashkent region as part of the Uzbek-Spanish business forum, examining modern technologies used to cultivate vegetables, fruit and ornamental plants and exploring opportunities for further cooperation.

The delegation's first stop was a greenhouse complex operated by Agrohouse LLC in Tashkent district. Covering 7 hectares, the facility produces seedlings of tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers and other agricultural crops, alongside various ornamental flowers.

During the visit, representatives of the company briefed the Spanish delegation on its production processes, greenhouse capacity, cultivation technologies and operating conditions.

The delegation then visited an intensive orchard complex operated by Eko Agro Product LLC in Yukori Chirchik district, which covers a total area of 140 hectares.

Apple orchards occupy 91 hectares of the site, while pear trees cover 25 hectares and peach trees account for 11 hectares. A further 4 hectares each are allocated to apricots and plums.

One of the main areas of interest was the drip irrigation system installed throughout the orchard. The technology delivers water directly to plants, helping improve the efficiency of water resource use.

The complex is also equipped with storage facilities and refrigerated chambers for preserving harvested produce.

During the visits, the Spanish representatives examined Uzbekistan's experience in developing greenhouse agriculture and intensive horticulture, including the practical application of modern agricultural technologies.

The parties also discussed potential areas for further cooperation in the agricultural sector.
