Uzbekistan Halts Gold Exports in First Quarter 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the first quarter of 2026, Uzbekistan did not carry out any gold exports, according to data from the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The published figures show that no shipments of the precious metal were made to external markets during January–March 2026. In the same period of 2025, gold exports amounted to US$3.57 billion.

It is noted that gold exports have not been conducted for six consecutive months. The suspension of external sales began in October 2025 and has continued despite sustained high global prices for the precious metal.

At the same time, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover totaled US$18.0 billion in January–March 2026.

The figure increased by US$471 million, or 2.7%, compared with the same period last year, the statistical authority reported.
