Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The government of Uzbekistan will exempt organisations and businesses operating in the culture and arts sector from a range of taxes, following announcements made during a meeting between the President and representatives of the creative community.
According to the measures outlined, organisations engaged in concert and entertainment activities, private theatres, the film industry, production of children’s content, and private educational institutions in culture and the arts will be exempt from value-added tax, profit tax, turnover tax, land tax, property tax and personal income tax.

In addition, every year 500,000 people from selected social groups, including teachers, doctors, civil servants, school pupils and students, as well as 100,000 low-income families and children with disabilities, will receive free vouchers to attend theatres, cinemas and concerts.
