Uzbekistan, China Discuss New Investment Projects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — An Uzbek-Chinese Business Forum was held in Tashkent with the participation of Uzbekistan's Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade and a delegation from China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

During the event, the two sides discussed expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as prospects for implementing new joint projects.

The forum brought together representatives of government and industry organizations, along with 22 Chinese companies operating in metallurgy, energy, logistics, biotechnology, automotive manufacturing, the food industry and other sectors.

Participants noted that trade turnover between Uzbekistan and China has tripled over the past five years and approached US$18 billion by the end of 2025. Over the same period, the volume of direct Chinese investment increased fivefold to US$17 billion. More than 6,000 enterprises with Chinese capital are currently operating in Uzbekistan.

Forum participants explored opportunities for joint projects in mining, green energy, agriculture, healthcare, high technology, industrial cooperation and the production of export-oriented goods.

The forum concluded by providing a platform for establishing new business contacts, developing investment initiatives and advancing joint projects between companies from the two countries.
