Uzbekistan Establishes Diplomatic Ties with 168th Country
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan continues to expand its network of international partnerships.
On 22 April 2026, in New York, Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the United Nations Ulugbek Lapassov and Head of the Guinea-Bissau Mission to the UN Samba Sane signed a joint communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations.
During the ceremony, both sides confirmed their mutual interest in developing cooperation within international organizations, including the United Nations and its specialized agencies.
The parties also reached an agreement to intensify bilateral engagement in order to identify and implement mutually beneficial areas of cooperation.
The Republic of Guinea-Bissau has become the 168th country with which Uzbekistan has officially established diplomatic relations, reflecting the country’s consistent expansion of its foreign policy ties.
