Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A working group from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Agriculture was on a working visit to Warsaw, Poland, from 14 to 17 September, the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan said.
During the visit, the sides discussed ways to bring Uzbek agricultural products to European markets, develop trade and logistics ties, and expand bilateral cooperation.
At a meeting with Poland’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the sides reviewed promising areas of cooperation between the two countries. In particular, they exchanged views on supporting mutual trade in agricultural products, establishing joint logistics and trade centers, and developing direct cooperation between research institutions.
To explore opportunities for supplying and selling Uzbek products on the Polish market, the working group visited major trade and logistics complexes in Warsaw. Meetings were held with the management of the Bronisze Trade Center, one of the largest wholesale agricultural markets in Central and Eastern Europe, and the Praga Gielda trade complex.
The talks focused on opportunities to import and distribute agricultural products grown in Uzbekistan on the Polish market through these trade complexes. The management of the complexes expressed readiness to provide practical assistance in promoting Uzbek products on the market.
At a meeting with entrepreneurs operating in Poland, the sides considered establishing a logistics center to help expand sales of products from Uzbek businesses. An agreement was reached to hold trilateral talks on this issue with the participation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.
Another important area of cooperation was personnel training and the exchange of practical experience. To this end, a meeting was held with a representative of Green Crops, an agricultural producer, to discuss expanding internship programs for Uzbek students.
During the working visit, the group also took part in a conference organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Poland to mark the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence. The conference highlighted the results of reforms carried out in Uzbekistan and the priority areas of the Uzbekistan–2030 strategy.
The main areas of the visit included developing trade and logistics cooperation with Poland, opening new market opportunities for Uzbek products and expanding practical experience exchange programs for students.
The meetings and talks were aimed at further strengthening agricultural ties between the two countries.
