Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan will introduce HACCP requirements for the issuance of permits for biologically active food supplements from 1 January 2028, under a system designed to ensure food safety.

The measure is stipulated in Presidential Decree No. UP-35 of 5 March 2026. Ahead of the new requirements taking effect, the Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry has begun assessing the readiness of domestic manufacturers and providing practical and methodological support.

The latest assessment was conducted at Pharma Care. Specialists carried out a preliminary review of the company's production processes against HACCP principles and examined its readiness to implement the system.

The assessment covered production conditions, technological processes, production controls, compliance with sanitary and hygiene standards, and mechanisms for ensuring product quality and safety.

Following the preliminary audit, the company's representatives received recommendations on addressing identified shortcomings and guidance on the phased implementation of the system.

The agency said it would continue assessing dietary supplement manufacturers' readiness for the new requirements and providing methodological assistance.
