Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Customs officers at the Khanabad border checkpoint in Uzbekistan’s Andijan Region discovered US$20,000 in undeclared cash while inspecting a vehicle travelling to a neighbouring country.
According to the Andijan Regional Customs Department, the driver did not disclose the cash during an oral interview or present it for customs inspection.
The money was discovered during a search of the vehicle.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
