Uzbekistan collects 6.61m tonnes of grain

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Grain growers of Uzbekistan harvested 6.61 million tonnes of grain in 2009, Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management of Uzbekistan said.

The ministry said that the farmers collected 50-60 centners per hectare. Some regions received crop for 70-8 centners per hectare.

Uzbek President Islam Karimov congratulated the grain growers of Uzbekistan with achieved results.
