Uzbekistan, China Hold New Round of Consultations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A new round of political consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of Uzbekistan and the People’s Republic of China took place in Tashkent on 20 April 2026.

The Uzbek delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Bobur Usmanov, while the Chinese side was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Liu Bin.

During the talks, the parties reviewed the current state and prospects of bilateral relations, noting steady growth in interaction and a positive dynamic in cooperation. The importance of consistent implementation of agreements reached at the highest and high levels was emphasized, along with further strengthening of the comprehensive strategic partnership.

Particular attention was given to expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation, developing industrial collaboration, and implementing joint infrastructure projects. The sides also discussed prospects for cooperation in high technologies, green energy, and digital transformation.

The parties exchanged views on humanitarian cooperation, including the expansion of academic exchanges, educational programs, and cultural initiatives.

In addition, current regional and international issues were discussed. Both sides reaffirmed their readiness to continue coordination within the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, the “Central Asia–China” format, and other multilateral platforms.

Following the consultations, the parties expressed mutual interest in further deepening cooperation and ensuring practical implementation of the agreements reached.
