Uzbekistan Central Bank to Boost Football Team Commemorative Coins
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan has decided to issue an additional batch of commemorative collectible coins dedicated to the national football team.
According to the regulator's press service, this step is driven by unprecedentedly high demand from citizens and a vast number of official requests received from the public and collectors immediately after the start of official sales.
The initial mintage of this thematic series was strictly limited and consisted of only 100 gold and 1,000 silver coins. This modest volume was unable to satisfy the demand of all interested buyers, prompting the Central Bank to quickly revise the emission parameters.
According to the new data, the mint will additionally produce 400 gold and 2,000 silver commemorative coins. Consequently, the total mintage of the football series will increase several times over compared to the original plans.
"Thank you all for the warm reception! Forward, Uzbekistan!" the Central Bank representatives emphasized in their official statement, noting the high patriotic interest of the population in the achievements of domestic sports.
The additional batch of numismatic products is intended to make the commemorative series more accessible to a wider circle of fans and lovers of valuable souvenirs.
