Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A meeting between Uzbekistan’s Energy Minister Sherzod Khodjaev, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov and SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf was held in Baku on 17 September.

The talks focused on implementing the tasks identified during meetings between Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on 23–24 August this year, as well as turning the friendly initiatives of the two heads of state into practical results. With SOCAR, the sides discussed the development of a network of filling stations in Uzbekistan, as well as the progress of geological exploration at investment blocks in Ustyurt and measures to accelerate the work. They also exchanged views on expanding cooperation between SOCAR and Uzbek companies and implementing joint investment projects.
The meeting also addressed the establishment of oil refining capacities and the organization of imports of crude oil and petroleum products in line with the tasks set by the heads of state.
The participants reviewed the current status and pace of implementation of projects in these areas and outlined further steps to ensure the timely and effective implementation of agreements reached, promptly resolve outstanding issues and further accelerate joint projects.
