Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia to Expand Healthcare Partnership

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov met on 28 July 2026 with a Saudi Arabian delegation led by Minister of Health Fahd bin Abdurrahman Al-Jalajel to discuss expanding practical cooperation in healthcare.

Participants noted the steady development of multifaceted relations between the two countries and highlighted healthcare as a promising area for bilateral engagement.

Discussions focused on increasing the effectiveness and scope of existing and planned healthcare projects. The two sides reviewed opportunities for collaboration in digitalizing the sector and implementing modern information technology and innovative solutions.

The meeting also addressed public-private partnership projects and efforts to improve the quality of medical services by leveraging available resources and adopting international best practices.

In addition, the parties exchanged views on training qualified medical personnel and enhancing professional skills among healthcare specialists.

The sides further discussed attracting Saudi Arabian investment, technology, and management expertise, fostering direct contacts between private sector representatives from both nations, and jointly preparing new projects.

Following the talks, both parties expressed readiness to broaden mutually beneficial cooperation, strengthen ties between relevant organizations and specialists, and jointly develop future projects.
