Uzbekistan and Japan to Expand Pharmaceutical Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) discussed new areas of practical cooperation in medicine and pharmaceuticals during a meeting at the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry.

Director of the Agency Abdulla Azizov presented to the Japanese side ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan's pharmaceutical sector, measures to develop domestic production, attract investment, introduce innovations, and expand international cooperation.

The agency's experience in collaborating with foreign partners on technology transfer, scientific research, personnel training, and investment projects was also presented.

JICA representatives outlined technical assistance programs in healthcare and pharmaceuticals, professional development for specialists, knowledge and experience exchange, and opportunities for joint projects.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to expand practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan, implement joint initiatives, and develop innovative projects in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors.
