Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia Discuss Pharmaceutical Projects
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Director of the Agency for Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry of Uzbekistan Abdulla Azizov held talks with representatives of Saudi companies The Health Holding Company (HHC) and The National Unified Procurement Company (NUPCO), who arrived as part of an official delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The parties focused on modernizing Uzbekistan’s medical and pharmaceutical sectors, implementing projects within the BioPharma City pharmaceutical cluster, improving the investment climate, and establishing high-tech manufacturing facilities with foreign participation.
During the meeting, the sides also discussed optimizing pharmaceutical production and supply chains, adopting modern approaches to public procurement systems, technology transfers, logistics development, investment attraction, and prospects for joint ventures.
The Health Holding Company is a Saudi state-owned entity involved in transforming the kingdom’s national healthcare system under the Vision 2030 strategy.
The National Unified Procurement Company is a state operator specializing in the centralized procurement and uninterrupted supply of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and healthcare technologies.
